The average US family of four uses an estimated 27 kilowatt-hours of electricity per day. In 2009, that figure was much higher, at 50 kWh per day. The same is true in Canada. This amounts to $107 per person for a family of four. This number is dependent on many factors such as the weather and how many people are living in the house at any one time.
