What Is Phantom Power?

by | Jun 12, 2022 | Frequently Ask Questions | 0 comments

Phantom Power is an electrical signal that is required to enable a microphone to receive power. In its first iteration, 48V phantom power was designed to support simple, low-current microphones. In the original DIN 45596 standard for phantom power, it was specified that the operating current should not exceed two milliamps. In recent years this standard was modified to permit the use of 48V Phantom Power for Tube Microphones.
